About Me

I am dedicated to the pursuit of technologies which improve the quality of life. Many technologies aren't foresighted enough to weigh the advantages to disadvantages (particularly in the long term) associated with their adoption. The current economic crisis and transportation are clear examples of this, the latter partially responsible for environmental degradation, smog, and dependency on foreign energy sources. The execution of this leaves much to be desired, and is a complicated issue involving both engineering technology and the collaboration between local and regional transit authorities.

For example, it is not possible to take public transit efficiently from Los Altos to the East bay in less than four steps - bus feeder, Caltrain, BART, then a bus feeder on the other end. It is a joke to use Light Rail to travel from San Jose to Los Altos because it takes close to an hour and 20 minutes when using a bike at both ends. The challenge therefore is to get a common transportation system setup and have different levels of transit including distributed feeders, intercity, and regional links. In addition the energy efficiency advantages of regenerative braking, stopping less frequently per person mile, higher power-train efficiency, and lower rolling resistances should be implemented in new efficient transit systems.

I also would like to see certain areas of the world be preserved not by artificially locking them in time, but allowing them remain appreciably desolate. I am also an avid bicyclist, hiker, and snowboarder.
